DIE ZAUNSCHRIFT
Wie kann man Orientierung ohne den Gebrauch von Pfeilen und Schildern schaffen? Wir wollten Typografie in den urbanen Raum bringen, die plakativ und informativ ist und gleichzeitig Informationen transportiert. Wir nutzen farbiges Flatterband um Informationen an sogenannte »Gittermattenzäune« anzubringen. So entstand eine eigene universelle Schrift anhand des Zaunrasters, die in unterschiedlicher Umgebung nutzbar wäre: bei Ausstellungen, in Museen, Parks oder öffentlichen Veranstaltungen. Zusammenarbeit mit Marvin Boiko, betreut von Prof. Xuyen Dam, 6.Semester.

How can you create orientation in a public area and still abandon arrows and signboards? We wanted to bring typography into our urban environment, that is striking, bold, informative
and that works. As essential design we used the so called »Gittermannzaun«, this is the foundation for the font. Coloured barrier tape is coiled around the grid of the fence so that a universal typography accrues that you can apply to different areas: museums, exhibitions in open public areas or in parks. This work arose in collaboration with Marvin Boiko in 2008 and originated in a Seminar by Prof. Xuyen Dam in my 6th semester.
